Objectives of the Forum

Idealism together with Professionalism

Many people in this world suffer because of poverty and war. They do not have access to health and education. They suffer from diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, respiratory tract infections and diarrhoea. These diseases with their enormous social and economic impact, threaten not only those directly affected, but have worlwide effects in a globalised world.

Working in the medical field in countries with "limited resources" demands more and more professionalism. Not only an idealistic attitude is needed but also professional training and continuing education for all those who want to tackle these problems in research and practice.

The Forum for International Health (foring), founded in Germany in 2004, has undertaken the task of facilitating access to information regarding professional training and further education through information sharing worldwide. The network of the forum offers the possibility for all those who are concerned by the problems described above to share their experiences in the field of International Health.
